pro bono Introductory Session

Pro bono services are known to serve the community by facilitating access to justice for the needy and vulnerable, but what role do they play within the legal industry, and where does their purpose lie? What are the opportunities and challenges of engaging in pro bono work? Which communities benefit from pro bono work?

This year, we present the Pro Bono Introductory Session — an in-person panel discussion taking place during Law Camp. Legal practitioners from different practice areas will share their perspectives and experiences of doing pro bono work in tandem with their legal careers.

the programme

During the panel discussion, our esteemed guest panellists will share their involvement in pro bono work, whilst students and within practice, and in different capacities. There will be a live Q&A segment where freshmen have the valuable chance to pose questions directly to the panellists.

After the panel discussion, freshmen can look forward to a detailed sharing of the various pro bono projects they can sign up for as part of the orientation programme this year. Important information such as the project’s schedule and the sign-up link will also be released during this session.
