Golden Years Project
In partnership with Lion Befrienders, a social service agency, the Golden Years Project (GYP) aims to raise awareness amongst the elderly on legal issues which may be relevant to them. Such issues include Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), Central Provident Fund (CPF), scams, and more. These topics tend to be taboo and may deter the elderly from seeking legal advice. Our goal is to help the elderly navigate these uncertainties as they embark on their golden years.
Freshmen will conduct research into these topics to produce brochures for the elderly’s perusal. Additionally, freshmen will also be given the opportunity to connect with the elderly through engagement sessions while learning more about the legal industry during the workshops conducted by an experienced practising lawyer.
GYP was started with one purpose—to assist the elderly in leaving behind their legacy. This is the perfect opportunity to kickstart your legal journey in a meaningful way, and we also hope that you can make some like-minded friends in the process!
