frequently asked questions

  • “Orientation” is a series of activities spanning multiple summer break. We kick off on 4 June 2024, and activities last all the way to the start of school.

The first event, Law Camp, serves as the official start of Orientation. It is designed to introduce participants to the exciting world of law.

During Freshers' Week, freshmen get to explore various sub-clubs, engage with law firms, and gain insights into the legal industry. This week provides a valuable chance to learn more about the different aspects of the field.

Separate from Law Camp and Freshers' Week are Rag & Flag, Jury's Choice, and Pro Bono. These are additional activities, carefully scheduled to avoid any conflict with Law Camp and Freshers' Week. For more information, please refer to the respective event pages.

  • Yes, you can! Almost the entire Orientation is optional.

That said, we highly encourage you to participate as much as possible to ease into university life and to get to know more people in your batch! Plus, the committee has worked hard to give you the best experience possible—we’re very excited to show you what we have in store.

  • The letter required is the one sent by NUS notifying you of your acceptance. Here is a sample.

  • Don’t worry! You can attach any other document that proves your acceptance into NUS Law.

  • We'd be thrilled to have you join us in person, but we understand that sometimes restrictions or busy schedules might get in the way. Most of our activities are held in person and have their own requirements for participation. If you'll be overseas during certain dates, simply let us know on the sign-up forms, and the Chairpersons of the specific events will reach out to you individually to discuss your situation.
