Project RAW
In partnership with ItsRainingRaincoats, Project Rights at Work (RAW) aims to inform migrant workers about their legal rights and entitlements in Singapore through a presentation by the freshmen. Even with an understanding of their legal rights, migrant workers might generally still feel hesitant to approach their employers concerning certain disagreements due to fear of retaliation. Thus, RAW also aims to provide migrant workers with the necessary skills to approach their employers with their concerns or to otherwise seek assistance from their agency if necessary.
In reaching out and engaging with the migrant workers in Singapore, freshmen can gain more awareness of the role that migrant workers play in our society and directly observe the importance of the law in protecting people within our communities. Particularly, freshmen will conduct research into these topics to produce brochures for the workers’ perusal.
This is a fantastic chance to take the first step in your legal journey with purpose, and hopefully connect with some like-minded peers along the way!
